Well folks what another great and successful year for the Santa Ride! What the weather was to hold for this one was the question?, with the Santa Run going out a weekend later than usual, due to the American Thanksgiving and NASCAR falling a week later (toy donations and 50/50 proceeds are taken in by the sponsoring restaurants /bars during the Football games and car races for donation to the Santa Ride). Mother Nature had plans for this one, with temps close to 50 degrees and no call for rain until late in the day.......The early morning clear sunny skies burnt off the morning frost quick and the bikes were rolling in at Alibis as early as 8:30am!
It was a great day for riding, and it was awesome that Tammy and John had expanded the length of the ride for this year. The ride down Riverside Drive was just a spectacular cruise for the end of the season. Horns blaring and Santa’s waiving Christmas Cheer to all.
Let us not forget what this ride is all about, first and foremost it is about the Kid’s and with the assistance of the Local Children’s Aid Society, bringing Christmas to family’s and their children that for some reason are going through difficult times, And secondly a chance, for everyone to come together dress up like Santa, Mrs Clause, or something festive and get into the spirit of the holiday season, have a little riding fun and social time with a group of folks at the end of the riding season and to support a local cause.
The Ride started at Alibis and traveled as a group to Rack n’ Roll, Charly’s, Brews N Cues, and then back to Foolery’s for the after party. Free Chilli and Buns were on the menu, over 30 door prizes to be won and a 50/50 draw to be held.
Tammy & John would like to thank the 60 to 67 motorcycles that joined in the ride throughout the day and for the numerous donations that flooded in for the Kid's, all those who assisted in blocking to keep the group safe, and the following businesses, and people for their support and donations for the “Santa Ride”
